Marsha 's Music Concert

Our lovely music teacher Marsha did a concert with us today.The children were wonderful.Here are some videos of them doing their favourite songs!

Swans at Ballyloughane

We went on a trip to the beach yesterday.The tide was very far in and we had a treat ... three swans came to say hello !
It was a  beautiful day.

Firemen visit

Some firemen paid us a visit last Thursday.
They let the children use the hose and climb up into the truck.
They also showed us what they use to cut the rooves off cars.
It was great!

Rockets Experiment

We did a brilliant experiment with a drink bottle and a pump.
When you pump air in with a  bottle one third filled with water ,it explodes and zooms off like a rocket!
The children had great fun retrieving the bottle!

Summer nature walk

We took advantage of the lovely weather to go on a summer nature walk .The trees are in full bloom and the birds are chirping away :)

Litter grabbers

We collected litter from around the school using litter grabbers this week.
It was a great way to spend a sunny day!

 

Volcano Experiments

We did an experiment with baking soda,vinegar,red food dye ,washing up liquid and water on Friday.
Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate and vinegar is acid.When they mix together ,they make carbonic acid and it makes the mixture erupt!
We had fun doing it.

Tom the Birdman

We had a real treat last Friday when Tom the Birdman spent a morning with us.He showed us paper birds he made himself, told us lots of interesting things about birds (who is the fastest,who is the smallest,who has the largest wingspan),let us listen to their sounds and then taught us how to draw birds.The pictures came out fantastically well!
He even showed us a stuffed owl!
It was a fabulous morning.

Last class with Marsha

The children finished up with Marsha last Thursday.
They absolutely loved their Music Lessons with her and have learned so many fun new songs and games and musical ideas.It was really lovely having her as a music teacher this year.
And we loved having Elsie the elephant too :)

Ten sticks make lots of different things!

The chidlren counted out ten sticks and made whatever they liked with them.They came up with great ideas- Batman,rockets,shooting stars,people,fans......
